DPI Scaling Guide

  • Why do I need to follow this guide?

If you have a setting higher than 100% for "Scale and Layout" inside Windows (see first image below) then you will need to follow this guide. Screen Magnification or "Scale and Layout" will affect how IntuitiveTables reads your poker tables. Certain adjustments need to be made for all features to work properly.

  • Which Sites need adjustments?

    • PokerStars PokerStars (Windows 10 or higher)
    • iPoker iPoker (All skins including Betfair, Bet365, William Hill, Titan and more)
    • PartyPoker PartyPoker (.com, ES, MGM, Borgata, ES, FR, CZE, Bwin, Coral, Crystal and more)
  • What are my options?

    • Option 1) (Recommended) Enable DPI Adjustments in Poker Sites Tab.
    • Option 2) Enable DPI scaling override for each Poker Site listed above.
    • Option 3) Set Scale and Layout (magnification) back to 100% system-wide.
  • Note: These steps only apply to the sites above. The remaining sites supported by IntuitiveTables do not require any futher action.

  • Before getting started...

If you are on multiple monitors please check each monitor's Scale and Layout value (see below).

Multi-Monitors

  • Multiple Monitors
  • 1

    Match Scale and Layout (recommended)

If you have more than one monitor make sure all values for Scale and Layout match. They can all be 150%, 175%, 100%, etc. they just need to match. Otherwise, certain issues with table placement or the detection of table elements can occur.

  • 2

    Choose Primary Display (alternative)

If you can't match your display scale and layouts and you only play poker on one of the monitors, you can set this to be your primary display. Choose "Make this my main display" and restart your PC. Make sure to only play poker on this monitor.

  • Note: If you make any changes to Scale and Layout you must log out and back into Windows. You may need to adjust the Table Size slider in the Main tab of IntuitiveTables to have any grids you made update to the new layout.

Option 1

Enable DPI Adjustments in the Poker Sites Tab (Recommended).

  • DPI Adjustments
  • 1

    DPI Adjustment

In the Poker Sites tab, enable DPI Adjustment for each site you play. This is the recommended option because it allows your lobbies and other text for these sites to remain full size. This also requires no changes to the site itself and no restart is required.

  • 2

    Requirements

This option applies to Windows 10 and 11. For Windows 7 please use Option 2.

  • Note: Option 1 will require DPI override to be disabled. If you get a warning when trying to enable this option, you may need to reverse Option 2 below.

Troubleshooting

Confirm your setup using the area test
  • Scan Table
  • 1

    Scan Table

Go to Tools -> Diagnostics and click Scan Table then click the center of the poker table. This will perform a scan to show how each element is mapped out by IntuitiveTables.

  • Area Test
  • 2

    Area Test

To see if the DPI Adjustment was applied properly, click on the item "Area Test". Make sure the white outline is not around the black outer border (before) but around only the table instead (after).

  • Note: If you passed the Area Test you are good to go and can stop here. Do not proceed to Option 2.

Option 2

Enable DPI scaling override for each poker site individually.

  • DPI Scaling Override
  • 1

    Open Properties

Right click the desktop icon for the poker site and go to Properties. If you don't have a desktop icon, you may need to find the shortcut in the folder for that site.

  • 2

    Change high DPI Settings

Go to the Compatibility tab and click "Change high DPI Settings." In Windows 7 this is called "Disable display scaling on high dpi settings."

  • 3

    Override high DPI scaling behavior

Check the box "Override high DPI scaling behavior" and set to "Application." Click OK and then Apply to enable the override.

  • Note: If you enable this setting you will have to fully close and re-open the poker site for the changes to take effect.

Additionally: This may cause your lobby and other text to be smaller than you want. If you decide to do Option 1 instead make sure to undo these steps.

  • Note: If the area test looks like the photo to the right above you have passed. Otherwise check out the possible ways to fail the area test below and what to do.

Ways to fail the area test
  • Area Test
  • 1

    The table is cropped (fail)

If the table is cropped (photo on left) you will need to do the Multi-Monitor Fix at the top of the page.

  • 2

Area test smaller than table (fail)

If the Area Test shows a square that is smaller than the table (photo on right) then you will need to disable DPI Adjustments in the Poker Sites tab for that site (undo Option 1).

  • Note: If you passed the Area Test you are good to go and can stop here. Do not proceed to Option 3.

Option 3

Set Scale and Layout back to 100% system-wide.

  • Option 3
  • 1

    Open Display Settings.

Right click an emtpy area of your desktop and select "Display Settings".

  • 2

Set Scale and Layout to 100%

Repeat this step for all connected monitors.

  • 3

    Display Resolution

If you are on a 4k monitor with 3840x2160 or 5120x2880 resolution, you may want to choose something like 2560x1440. Otherwise text and certain windows may appear too small.

  • Why use this option?

IntuitiveTables will function the best at 100% Scale and layout. You will see the best performance and the least issues. However Option 1 and Option 2 should be attempted first and Option 3 used as a last resort.

  • Note: If you make any changes to Scale and Layout you must log out and back into Windows. You may need to adjust the Table Size slider in the Main tab of IntuitiveTables to have any grids you made update to the new layout.
